We wanted a Mac capture tool that felt easier to use. Familiar capabilities together, complexity behind the scenes, and attention returned to the work at hand.
Start from the menu bar or a shortcut. Select your region, display, or audio sources.
Take a screenshot or pause, resume, and stop a recording. The original result is saved locally first.
Annotate, recognize text, or trim as needed. Save a copy, copy to the clipboard, or use system sharing.
The current build targets Apple Silicon and requires macOS 15 or later. Final distribution details will accompany the Mac App Store release.
Capture, recording, OCR, and editing happen on your Mac. Sharing, synced folders, or Universal Clipboard use the services or system features you choose.
Original captures are saved first; edited results are saved as copies. Clearing recent history removes only its index. Deleting a file requires individual confirmation.
Screen and system audio, microphone, and selected file or folder access are requested for the relevant tasks. Automatic scrolling needs its own authorization; manual scrolling capture does not.
It is designed for vertical scrolling on a single display. Dynamic content, unusual canvases, or fixed regions can affect alignment; adjust the area or use manual mode.
SparkleShot is coming soon to the Mac App Store. Public downloads are not available yet; the official store link will appear when ready.
